Michael St. Peter is known for his “warm, beautiful and true” singing (Chicago Classical Review). A graduate of The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music, his career as a classical tenor has led to his debut on notable stages in New York, Chicago, and London, such as Harris Theatre, Pritzker Pavilion, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Wigmore Hall, and Carnegie Hall. Michael has worked with Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Tulsa Opera and Haymarket Opera Company of Chicago. Notable performances include his debut with Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra singing Mozart’s Requiem, and his debut with Music of the Baroque, singing Haydn’s Creation Mass conducted by Dame Jane Glover. Summer of 2022, he sang the role of Colin in L’Amant Anonyme by Joseph Bologne with Haymarket Opera Company. A cast recording of the opera, produced in partnership with Cedille Records, was released in February 2023 as the first-ever full recording of Bologne’s work. Michael is currently a soloist and cantor at Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Chicago, and an ensemble member with Third Coast Baroque.
