Manhattan-based soprano Maggie Woolums is excited to return to EnsembleNYC this fall. Recent appearances have included the soprano solo in Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem with EnsembleNYC, the New York premiere of Wound in the Water by Norwegian composer, Kim Andre Arnesen and performances of Die Fledermaus and L’incoronazione di Poppea with New York Lyric Opera Theater.
Maggie is a member of the New York Philharmonic Chorus and the professional chorus of the Church of the Resurrection. She has served as the soprano section leader for the Oratorio Society of New York since 2016 and has the pleasure of performing at such venues as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Carnegie Hall, and David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center.
In addition to singing, Maggie works in Artist Planning at Carnegie Hall. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Joan Patenaude-Yarnell.
