Laura Pfortmiller

Laura Pfortmiller, soprano has appeared throughout the country with such companies as Tulsa Opera, Natchez Opera Festival, Sorg Opera, Opera Delaware, Chautauqua Opera, Sarasota Opera, OperaIdaho!, Lake George Opera Festival, Light Opera Oklahoma, Oswego Opera, Bronx Opera, Ohio Light Opera, Elysium Opera, Amarillo Opera and the Harrisburg Symphony.

Her repertoire includes the title role in Massenet’s Manon, Nedda (Pagliacci), Gilda (Rigoletto), Micaela (Carmen), Mimi (La Boheme), Rosalinda (Die Fledemaus), Hanna (The Merry Widow), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Donna Elvira and Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Susanna, Countess and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Mary (Hugh the Drover), Sophie (Werther) and the Soprano Soloist in Carmina Burana.

Music Theatre roles Laura has performed include Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), Sarah Brown (Guys and Dolls), Hanna Glawari (the Merry Widow), Phyllis (Iolanthe,) Marietta (Naughty Marietta), Josephine (HMS Pinafore), Margot (The Desert Song) Countess Zedlau (Wiener Blut), Princess Zara (Utopia Limited) and Charlotte in Manhattan School of Music’s New York premiere of The Yellow Wallpaper.

Today, Laura loves jigsaw puzzles, TJ dolmas, periwinkle blue, baby animals, Faure’s Requiem, Gilmore Girls, and Jesus…and, Oxford commas.
