Tenor Evan Katsefes has performed in opera, recital and concert throughout the United States. Mr. Katsefes studies at The Manhattan School of Music in pursuit of a Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance in the studio of Marlena Malas.
Mr. Katsefes has been on the rosters of numerous young artist programs, both in-person and virtually at the Curtis Institute of Music, the Chautauqua Institution, Classical Singing and New York in June, and the Queens Summer Vocal Institute. As a student of these programs, Evan has worked with Susan Graham, Christine Georke, Brian Zeger, Ben Moore, and Margo Garrett.
Recent concert credits include tenor soloist in Bach’s St. John Passion with The Opera Next Door, and tenor soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass with Kollective366 in October 2022.
In 2023, Evan made his debut with Musica Reginae Productions, where he gave a joint recital with other young artists, accompanied by pianist, Barbara Podgurski. This June, Evan made his debut as Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Castleton Estate. Then, he returned to Chautauqua to sing Gherardo and cover the role of Rinuccio in the opera conservatory’s main stage production of Gianni Schicchi.
Evan’s time spent outside of his life in music is filled with adventurous travel, cooking, and supporting the arts in and around New York City, which he calls home.
