Arthi Nandakumar

Indian-Canadian-American soprano, Arthi Nandakumar, is a graduate of The Manhattan School of Music earning her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance. Over the years, Arthi has been a part of several productions such as the World Premiere of The Girl from Ipanema as Liz, La liberazione di Ruggiero dall’isola d’Alcina as Alcina, Carmen as Frasquita, and the New York City Premiere of Katie:Strongest of the Strong as Barbelle2/Max. She has also had the wonderful opportunity to perform in scenes from Hänsel und Gretel (Gretel), L’incoronazione di Poppea (Valetto), Falstaff (Nanetta), and Ainadamar (Nuria). Throughout her time as a performer, Arthi has also developed a passion for acting and directing and is very excited to be Assistant Directing her first opera in the spring, La Traviata.

Arthi's hobbies include art, dancing, and losing to her roommate at Scrabble. She also makes a mean Kraft mac and cheese.
